In an effort to include our entire Sand Creek community, we would like to invite you to complete an ornament to hang on our Christmas Tree. Please return completed ornaments to the SC Jr./Sr. High School Office.
Jessica Roddy, co-owner of Xsell Realty, came in to explain and show the importance of descriptive writing when putting a house on the market. The sixth grade class will be creating gingerbread houses and trying to "sell them". It was great to have an Aggie Alum come in and talk about her career and how it relates to what students are learning.
This month’s Positive Postcard recipients are: Dawson Brugger, Tyler Woerner, Landon Machen, Cedric Baker, Jill Emery, Dylan Elliott, Julianne Schoonover, Emily Schuldt, and Ariebella Wyss-Owens. Great job students!

Attention families! Please see the Christmas Spirit Days for both buildings for next week.
This last Thursday, the 6th graders worked with their Aggie Allies to write special messages in Holiday Cards to send to various Assisted Living Center. Great job guys!
The Sand Creek Student Government volunteered at the Salvation Army last week sorting donations from the Toys for Tots campaign. They worked to organize and create a “toy shop” where families in need can shop for their children this holiday season. They did a great job representing what it means to have 1SC values!
Sand Creek Schools went into a Secure Mode this morning due to a medical issue. The LockDown Boot was accidentally pulled at that time. Everyone is safe and healthy and we are operating normally.
The 6th grade class is hosting a Winter Clothing Drive now through Wednesday, December 20th.
The School of Choice window for second semester is open NOW through Friday, December 22, 2023. Call our offices to set up a tour or to shadow a Sand Creek student for a day!
A yearbook makes an awesome Christmas gift!
The Federal Government has announced the FAFSA is expected to be released December 30th. The Aggie Academic Career and Counseling Center, in partnership with Jackson College, is hosting a FAFSA workshop on January 10, 2024 starting at 5:30pm in the Sand Creek High School library. Your student will want to bring their school issued Chromebook to ensure access to the internet. Please view the Aggie Academic and Career Counseling Webpage Newsletter for information on FSA ID and other documentation that you will need to bring to the event. Regardless of post-secondary plans, it is recommended that every graduating senior complete the FAFSA.

Continuing our Ag for Everyone series with a tee shirt contest! Please submit your design to Mrs. Wheeler by December 4th at 3pm.
Ag For Everyone continues today with Matt Hillard and the harvesting of the school ag field. A few classes from the elementary and Jr./Sr. high school learned about the process of harvesting corn and it’s uses. Dominic Borton, a fifth grade student, won the PBIS ticket drawing and received a ride in the combine. Junior Jonathan Fisher and Transportation Supervisor Chris Ondrovick also rode along to learn about the technology in the combine. Thank you to Hillard Family Farms and Raymond and Anna Simpkins. Remember to keep the Ag in Aggies!
Today is the day! Please join us at 4pm in the Jr/Sr HS Cafeteria for Donuts & Cider with the Superintendent.
Yesterday the Sand Creek FFA and Agriscience Program kicked off their "Ag for Everyone" series with Dr. Eliza Simpkins, proud Aggie Alum! She presented to FFA and non-FFA students about how she became a veterinarian, the education needed to become a veterinarian, and what to look for in picking a college. Eliza also talked about the importance of participating in a variety of activities and encouraged students to participate in activities and join clubs that interest them. She brought her vet truck into the school barn for students to see the tools she uses. Pictured below is Lila, one of the school bunnies getting an ultrasound.
Stay tuned for Dr. Simpkins return visits and for more agricultural professionals to come as well.
A huge thank you to Eliza for taking time out of your busy day; you made many people’s day in doing so!
Sand Creek Community Schools district goal is to "Improve Student Academics and Behavior through the Implementation of the MTSS Framework and through a Whole Child/Whole School/Whole Community approach".
A critical piece of this goal is the Culture and Climate of the school and district. We will be taking a Culture and Climate voluntary survey from parents, students and staff twice a year.
Please take a few minutes to provide your feedback on the Family School Climate Survey. You can also find the link to this survey on the homepage of the school website. Your feedback is crucial as we look to continually improve.
