Congratulations to Emma Hildebrand for winning the FFA Creed contest and to the Parliamentary Procedures team for winning their contest this past Thursday.
The Parliamentary Procedure team consists of Leah Gregg, Emma Gregg, Meredith Vontroba, Ethan Huston, Jacob Alston, Daniel Meckley, Korah Daniels and Abe Osburn.
Both Emma and the Parliamentary Procedures team advance to the regional competition in March.
Congratulations to the Junior High Conduct of Meetings team that competed last night. They are moving onto Regionals!!! Team members include TJ Moore, Ryleigh Snyder, Layna Smith, Reid Hulett, Zoe Rorick, Makenna Wheeler, and Abby Rendel.
Mrs. Gilbert's 7th grade science class had a Blood compatibility Lab. Students worked to discover which blood types were compatible with each other. The lab helped to discover the universal donor and universal receiver when it comes to compatible blood types.
Students in Mr. Lyons class are working on their remote controlled robots.
Congratulations to Blain Wheeler and Jorden Wilson for competing in the FFA District Contests yesterday. Congratulations to Jorden on her first place Gold Win in Prepared Public Speaking. She will be advancing to the Regional Competition.
BRRRR . . . It's cold outside. Please make sure that elementary students are bringing winter coats, gloves, hats, snow pants and boots with them during the winter months. Thank you in advance for your help in keeping our student warm during recess. If you are unable to provide these items please contact the elementary office. Thank you!
Attention to both students and parents of students in grades 9-12:
We are excited and eager to announce the reinstatement of after school tutoring for our high school students! Tutoring will take place Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3pm to 4pm starting Monday, February 8th. High School tutoring will be located in room 108, the tiered multi media lab and will be run by classroom teacher, Ms. Jodway. In order to stay in compliance with COVID-19 regulations, and most importantly to keep students safe, we are asking those interested in participating in this after school program to contact Ms. Jodway for further details and to sign up.
Ms. Papenhagen’s fourth-graders have been studying “coding” with help from their Computers teacher, Mrs. Morgan, and from bots, Dot and Dash.
National School Counseling Week

Mrs. Fink's class won the Fastest Class In the School Challenge in P.E. for the month of January!
Today is the 100th day of school. Miss Rozeboom's first grade students are celebrating in class by making crowns, reading 100 words, writing 100 words, and much more.
Attention TECH Center Students: The LISD TECH Center will move to remote instruction effective now through Friday, February 12. Students are expected to sign into Google Classroom and attend their live sessions as scheduled by their teacher. Any Co-Op, Custom Class, or Work Experience students may still attend their worksites. If you are a face-to-face learner and haven’t specifically been quarantined, you will still attend your morning classes at Sand Creek. Students should plan on going home in the afternoon. Please let the office know if you will need transportation. Tech Center students will return to face-to-face instruction on Tuesday, February 16th.
6-12 Virtual parents only: Is your child struggling as a virtual learner? If so, please join us for a virtual parent education workshop. This workshop is designed to address common problems for students and to provide you, parents, tools to help your child stay engaged and successful in their academic work. The workshop will take place Thursday, February 11th at 6 PM. Please register for this event by clicking here. In Miss Hella’s 3rd grade class, students are learning about forces. They have created a Hopper Popper and are using the force of push to stretch the rubber band and then releasing the rubber band to see the force of pull, which pops it into the air.
