Sand Creek Schools had a Lockdown drill this morning around 10 a.m. This drill was unplanned as the Lockdown alert was accidentally set off when the system controls were being moved to another location. We apologize for the inconvenience and any confusion. We notified law enforcement and staff and students immediately.
The good news is that it was a great drill to see how staff and students both would respond to an unexpected drill. They did great!

There is still a limited supply of 2021-2022 Ruth McGregor Yearbooks available. These books are hard covered with 56 colored pages. The cost is $20.00.

Miss Hella’s 4th graders organized a friendly competition between all classes in the elementary building for their SEL community service project. The money that was raised will go towards upgrades for the elementary playground. Their goal was to raise $500 and the school will vote for what upgrades they would like to have.
The class decided to have a Money War fundraiser. The fundraiser took place May 16-20, 2022. Miss Hella's students collected and counted the money as part of their end of the year math review.
A total of $3,462.67 was collected ($1,529.67 in coin and $1,933.00 in cash)!!
Way to go Ruth McGregor Elementary Students!!!

The PTO Raffle Ticket fundraiser is well underway. Students not intending to sell their packet of tickets are encouraged to return them to school as soon as possible. This is important for two reasons:
First the PTO is responsible to account for all tickets – sold and unsold – for their raffle license through the state.
Secondly, returning unsold tickets will give students wanting to sell additional tickets the opportunity to do so.

We kicked off our elementary day on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 with Mrs. Gilbert explaining why today was an exciting day! She shared what a palindrome was. (A word, number, phrase or other sequence of characters which reads the same way backwards as forwards. Such as dad, 1881, or 2/22/22.
Mrs. Gilbert shared trivia questions with the school around the number 2 and today’s date. We had a hunt for 2’s in the building where classes went on a scavenger hunt for the number 2. Headbands were made by some of our younger students and fun was had by all!

Attention parents of 5th and 6th grade students: We will be having an informational parent meeting to learn more about our 5th/6th grade student camp opportunity. A Kimball Camp representative will be speaking to our parents tonight, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, in the Junior High gym beginning at 6:00 p.m. Please plan to attend and learn about your child’s camp experience that is scheduled to take place on April 27-29, 2022. The representative will be explaining about the camp day, as well as what to do if your child takes medication, and many other things! There will also be a question and answer time to address any questions you may have regarding camp.
